Forecasting is part of the product
Solsidus prepares weather and electricity-price data before the box can use it. That requires data processing, hosting, monitoring and ongoing work when a provider or market changes.
The forecast is not decoration. It helps decide whether the battery should leave room for solar or buy more energy in a lower-cost period.
Development continues after the hardware is built
The firmware, inverter profiles, local interface, cloud services and security updates are developed and tested together. Each supported inverter model also needs validation before we can trust it in a customer's home.
The price supports that continuing work, including safe updates and fixes after purchase.
Small-batch production costs more
We assemble, flash, test and prepare boxes in much smaller quantities than a mass-market electronics company. Components, enclosures, packaging, quality checks and fulfilment therefore cost more per unit.
Those checks are part of the product: a box that controls home energy must be prepared consistently, not simply shipped from an anonymous production line.
Demand sets what a small company can charge
Solsidus is a small company. We do not yet have the purchasing power or production scale of a global manufacturer, so the current price reflects real demand and our present cost per box.
As demand and production volume change, we can review the price. Until then, it must be high enough to manufacture the product responsibly and keep the service alive.
